It’s a band name.

Woom is a duo. Woom make sparse and strangely orchestrated music. Woom is from Oakland, which, if you’ve never been, is one BAD ASS city. Muu’s Way, the debut from Woom, is out on June 28 on BaDaBing.

“Rectangle of consciousness in the universe!”

The lyrics in “Quetzalcoatl’s Ship” are totally bizarre, but something tells me that Woom knows exactly what they’re talking about.

Musically, this is initially stark stuff. But every bass downbeat, every playful click or clack, is leading somewhere. Just check it out and see. Oh, there are also some nice waves in there. Ride em.

Woom plays tonight at Death by Audio, and will be back for some as yet unannounced Northside Fest gigs.

Check Bobka for another track, “The Hunt.”
