This is some haunting shit. But it’s still fun and party like. I love that mix. Something scary that’s fun. Like a rollercoaster. Like jumping fences and getting into state fairs for free. Or riding your bike really drunkenly. Woo!
Cold Cave is a little like Depeche Mode with Everything but the Girl (remember them?! Swoooon) thrown in for good measure. And honestly, Stephin Merritt vocals make the male led songs delicious.
Love Comes Close came out on mastermind Wesley Eisold’s own label, Heartworm Press, in August and sold out, like, right away. Matador (being Matador) was like, “heyyyy now,” and signed them up real quick. Love Comes Close comes out again on Nov. 3. Cold Cave is playing lots of CMJ shows. Yesssss.
Here’s a taste. So yum.
