AA Bondy has been around for awhile. He played for many years in Birmingham band Verbena and has been doing the solo thing for awhile. This track is particularly pleasing- a nice drum shake and a pretty piano line lead us into the story, called “I Can See the Pines are Dancing.” It reminds me, through emotion and memory more than actual musical stylings, of the Wilco/Billy Bragg “Mermaid Avenue.” This song feels happy, just like the majority of that album.

AA Bondy: I Can See the Pines are Dancing

AA Bondy plays the Bowery Ballroom on Dec. 9 with Willy Mason, another folk-ish indie guitar dreamboy. That should be an enchanting show. The Vegan has videos.
