Acrylics is one of those bands that has a sound that you can’t not like. It’s the kind of music that really snobby music geeks will love for its blissful feeling amidst actual good songwriting, but it’s also the kind of music that anyone can access. I have lots of friends who like music that is soothing or entertaining, but not music that is hard to listen to. Acrylics will appeal to those people, too. Take for example, this just released track, “All of the Fire,” from the band’s forthcoming release “All of the Fire. It’s a poppy crystal with edges of California soul and folk. Where does the California influence come from? This is a Brooklyn band.

In case you didn’t know, Acrylics is releasing the debut album on Terrible Records, which is Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor’s new label.
