Just got word about Hopewell because they’re playing the All Tomorrow’s Parties Fest upstate next month. This band plays, well, kind of what sounds like an unstoppable force. Their music is full of power chords, wailing vocals and 90s Seattle sensibility. But there is also this underlying soul thing going on. See their song, Island, below, and you’ll see what I mean. Kind of a cross between Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd and the Byrds, if that makes any sense. (IT DOES!)
The Brooklyn based band sounds nothing like the other “it” Brooklyn based bands. And that’s good. Variety! They put out an album, Good Good Desperation, on Tee Pee Records.
