The Books. They are that band. You know. You’ve heard of them but maybe you’re not too familiar. Educated music, you could call it that. They play melodic and soft music, and a lot of what completes their songs is found sound. The band formed in Inwood, Manhattan but now live in North Adams, Mass. The Berkshires, what?! The band records everything themselves up there in the woods. Which is exactly why it sounds so good, so wooden, so heavenly.

They’re putting out a new record soon, and to get ready, The Books will hit the road for an abbreviated tour. The closest show is Philly, and it’s definitely worth the trip.
