I’ve been listening to the recently released Superchunk track, “Misfits & Mistakes,” from their forthcoming album “Leaves in the Gutter,” out tomorrow, April 7. I really like it when bands are consistent with their sound, of course that’s contingent on the original sound being good….luckily Superchunk stick like glue to that 90s rock guitar sound that is so damn good.

The song has been on repeat for days now and, just in time, Aquarium Drunkard has a thoughtful album dissection of Superchunk’s release from 1994, “Foolish.” The drunkard aptly tells the tale of the album and describes its subject matter with an even-tone. He also explains that Superchunk is the epitome of indie- in both their sound and career choices. Read the post and listen to some tracks from “Foolish.”

Superchunk are playing two upcoming shows, unfortunately i’ll be at neither.

April 15- Cat’s Cradle, Carrboro, NC

April 18- Coachella, Indio, CA

And from me, “Misfits & Mistakes” and for good reference “Let It Go” off Superchunk’s self-titled debut.
