JJAMZ is probably a joke band. That doesn’t mean the band members aren’t trying, or they don’t care, it just means that the band will probably not go far. I’m not sure they’ll ever release anything. Judging by the two tracks on their MySpace…well, i’m not sure that’s a bad thing.
The songs are mainly uninspired pop-rock tracks that you’ve heard before. But there is a catch here- a big one. The best drummer in the world plays in this band.
Jason Boesel is the drummer in Rilo Kiley, a band that has certainly turned into chewed up pink bubblegum after years of living as the primest rib. But no matter, Boesel is still the best drummer working today. He also plays with The Mystic Valley Band and once with Jenny Lewis solo (when her solo work was good.)
You can hear a little of his genius on these two tracks, but not really, so check out a couple below. One is “Spectacular Views” by Rilo Kiley, the other is “Souled Out” by Conor Oberst.
Rilo Kiley: Spectacular Views
Conor Oberst: Souled Out!!!

Jason Boesel: Hand of God « Microphone Memory Emotion
